Northern Structural Services were appointed by IAE to undertake the design of a new 123,000 sqft portal framed warehouse & production facility inclusive of 2 storey office, learning centre and external works. 

 

Initially we undertook the design of a complex set of enabling works, including site access and the design of mineshaft capping at around 17m below ground level and remediation of deep landfilled material. 

 

The main contract comprised the design and detailing of the civil engineering elements including below ground and sustainable drainage (SUDs), external concrete haulage yard, with foundation structural engineering elements including pile caps, piled slab design, ground floor slab checks and coordination with the steel frame contractor
